Social Enterprise MeetUP & Camp Announced!

BC’s FIRST EVER SOCIAL ENTERPRISE MEETUP AND CAMP!

- Enterprising Non-Profits Announces Upcoming Social Enterprise Events -

VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada (May 3, 2010) – Over 250 leaders from the social enterprise, business and nonprofit sectors will gather in Vancouver during the two days of the Social Enterprise MeetUP on the evening of Thursday, November 4th, 2010 for a special all-guest reception and a full day of learning on Friday, November 5th, 2010 at the Plaza 500 Hotel & Conference Centre. Participants will come together to explore social enterprise’s response to 21st century challenges within a stimulating, inspiring environment encouraging conversation, innovation and partnerships. A quick-paced agenda features speakers and panelists with a wealth of knowledge and experience specializing in cross-sectoral approaches to solving social issues.

Keynote speaker for the MeetUP, Gerry Higgins, CEIS Scotland, will provide an International Perspective on Social Enterprise. Panel and roundtable discussions will be lead by a number of experts in the field, including David LePage, the convener of Social Enterprise MeetUP, who has worked within the non-profit sector for over 30 years and is currently the Program Manager of the conference sponsor agency Enterprising Non-Profits, enp, a unique collaboration of funders who provide support for social enterprise development; including development grants, marketing opportunities, access to capital, and public policy advocacy. Throughout the MeetUP, participants have opportunities to learn from experts, network and discuss key components of successful social enterprises. “Social Enterprise MeetUP will create a day of learning and interaction to create greater success for social enterprises.”

Leading up to the MeetUP, enp will host two ‘After 5’ professional development and networking events this fall:  on Thursday, September 16th, Effective Marketing for Social Enterprise and on Tuesday, October 5th, Impactful Decision-Making for Social Enterprise.  And six months after the MeetUP, BC’s First Ever Social Enterprise Camp will take place on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in April 2011.
